Tag - you're it!
We very quietly released a new feature today that we are unbelievably excited about: tagging.
Fundraisers can now add simple text descriptors to their fundraising page to describe who they are, what they're doing, why it's important to them -- anything that they think is relevant. These tags appear on the bottom of the fundraising page. When someone goes to that page and clicks on a tag, they can see any other fundraising pages that share the same tag.
It's been clear to us with our view from behind the scenes that there are so many folks with pages on the site doing truly amazing things, but they don't know about each other. It's sort of like a massive apartment building where nobody knows their neighbor even though there's only 20 inches of wall between them. So close, yet impossibly far.
Tags on fundraising pages will help people see the other people raising funds for other causes that self identify in the same way.
There is a lot more where this came from. What we released today is meant to lay the groundwork for even greater connectivity between all of the awe inspiring people who are making a difference in the world by raising funds for causes they care about online. Stay tuned...
